Restoration Efforts Underway in Seferihisar Following February Floods

In response to the severe rainfall that struck Seferihisar in February, the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has initiated a series of restoration efforts in the Payamlı district. The focus is on the Karakoç Stream, where extensive repair and reinforcement work is currently in progress. The municipality aims to enhance the area's flood resilience and mitigate future risks associated with severe weather events. As part of these efforts, approximately 3 kilometers of new safety railings are being installed along the stream. Meanwhile, the existing railings, which stretch over 11,000 meters, are undergoing essential maintenance and repainting to ensure their durability and effectiveness. The initiative reflects the local government's commitment to improving public safety and infrastructure in the wake of natural disasters. By upgrading these crucial elements, the municipality hopes to safeguard the community from potential flooding in the future. Residents have expressed appreciation for these measures, acknowledging the importance of proactive responses to environmental challenges.
