A new legislative initiative aimed at creating a terror-free Turkey has been presented to the Turkish Grand National Assembly. This comprehensive proposal, referred to as the 'Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration,' seeks to outline specific measures to address the threats posed by terrorist organizations, particularly focusing on the PKK/KCK group.
The proposal consists of 12 articles that delineate the objectives and the scope of the law. Key among these is the determination of the cessation of activities by the PKK/KCK terror group and the surrender of any weapons and ammunition controlled by them. Following the publication of a National Security Council decision in the Official Gazette, the proposal details how investigations, prosecutions, and the suspension of prison sentences will be handled.
NTV has obtained the full text of the legislative proposal, with journalist Özgür Akbaş providing insights into its implications. The law aims not only to eradicate the threats posed by terrorism but also to foster a sense of national unity and societal integration among the citizens of Turkey.
This legislative effort underscores the Turkish government's commitment to enhancing national security and ensuring a peaceful environment for its citizens. The proposal is now awaiting deliberation in the parliament, where its provisions will be further examined to establish their effectiveness in combating terrorism and promoting social cohesion.
