The Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul has been closed to transit vessels due to dense fog that has blanketed the area. Reports indicate that the fog has significantly reduced visibility, particularly around key locations such as Beşiktaş and Ortaköy, where the thick fog was prominently visible. The iconic 15 July Martyrs Bridge has also disappeared from view, illustrating the severity of the weather conditions.
In response to the adverse weather, the local ferry service, Şehir Hatları, has canceled several of its scheduled trips. Passengers are advised to check for updates regarding service changes as the fog persists. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely, and safety remains a priority for both maritime and land transportation.
While fog is not uncommon in Istanbul during this time of year, the intensity of the current conditions has prompted officials to take precautionary measures to ensure the safety of both travelers and maritime operations.
