Farmers in Aydın Express Concern Over Rising Fuel Prices Impacting Agriculture

In the Nazilli district of Aydın, local farmers are raising alarms about the soaring prices of diesel fuel and the overall increase in operational costs, which they argue are threatening the sustainability of agricultural production. Güray Küçüksavran, a farmer from the Çapahasan neighborhood, expressed his dismay, stating that he has invested millions of liras in tractors and equipment. "In these conditions, it's impossible for farmers to survive," he lamented. Another local producer highlighted the drastic rise in fuel prices, noting that what was once 40 lira per liter has now surged to over 100 lira. This steep increase poses a serious dilemma for farmers as they struggle to manage their expenses. "How can I plow my fields? How can I plant my crops?" he questioned, underscoring the challenges faced by the agricultural community. As farmers continue to grapple with these economic pressures, their ability to maintain viable farming operations is increasingly in jeopardy.
