The Deposit Refund System, which began on July 1, 2026, aims to enhance recycling efforts in Turkey by introducing DOA recycling machines throughout the country. This initiative covers all 81 provinces and 973 districts, focusing particularly on urban areas where waste management is critical. In Istanbul, a significant number of these machines are being deployed at various locations, including shopping centers, universities, municipal service buildings, public institutions, and major transportation hubs. Residents of Istanbul can effortlessly find their closest DOA return point using an online map feature developed as part of the program. This tool allows users to search for the nearest recycling machine, promoting a more efficient and accessible recycling process.
