The YKS (Higher Education Institutions Exam) is poised to begin this weekend, featuring three distinct sessions. According to data released by Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy, the President of ÖSYM, a total of 2,425,628 candidates have registered for the exam. Notably, 921,248 of these individuals will be participating in their first university entrance exam.
The exam schedule is set for June 20, 2026, when the first session, the TYT (Basic Proficiency Test), will take place, followed by the AYT (Field Proficiency Test) and YDT (Foreign Language Test) on June 21, 2026. Among the candidates, the youngest participant is just 16 years old, while the oldest is an impressive 87. Additionally, there are 20,158 candidates aged 50 and above who are pursuing their university dreams.
The anticipation surrounding the YKS is significant, as it represents a critical step for many in their academic and professional journeys. The results of the exam are scheduled to be announced on July 22, 2026, providing candidates with insight into their future educational opportunities.
